What happened
Landlord applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict Tenant due to non-payment of rent. The Tenant failed to pay rent from July 1, 2021 to January 31, 2022. The Landlord served a Notice of Termination effective July 24, 2021. The Tenant did not attend the hearing.
The ruling
The tenancy is terminated effective February 8, 2022, unless the Tenant voids the order by paying the specified amount. The Tenant must pay $3,693.07 for rent arrears and compensation, plus $23.12 per day from January 29, 2022, until move-out. The Tenant must also pay $186.00 for the application filing cost. If full payment is not made by February 8, 2022, the Landlord may file for eviction enforcement.
