What happened
Landlord applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict Tenant due to failure to pay rent and persistent late payment of rent. The parties engaged in mediation and reached a mutual agreement to resolve the matter.
The ruling
The tenancy is terminated effective January 31, 2024. The Tenant must pay the Landlord $13,911.00, which includes rent arrears and application filing costs, minus the rent deposit. If the unit is not vacated by January 31, 2024, the Tenant will owe the Landlord $50.55 per day in compensation until the unit is vacated. If the full amount is not paid by January 31, 2024, the Tenant will owe interest at 7% annually on the outstanding balance.
