What happened
Landlord applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict Tenant due to Tenant or another occupant wilfully or negligently causing undue damage to the rental unit. The Tenant had already vacated the unit prior to the hearing.
The ruling
The Tenant shall pay the Landlord $22,600 for the reasonable costs of repairing the damage and/or replacing the damaged property, as well as $186 for the cost of filing the application. If the Tenant does not pay the full amount by February 28, 2022, they will owe interest at 2% annually on the outstanding balance.
