What happened

Tenant applied for an order determining that the Landlord collected or retained money illegally by increasing the rent without proper notice and in excess of the guideline amount.

The ruling

The Landlord collected rent in excess of the amount allowed by the Act from March 1, 2019 to October 31, 2021. The Landlord is ordered to pay the Tenant $90 for the excess rent collected and $50 for the cost of filing the application, for a total of $140.
