What happened
Landlord applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict Tenant due to persistent late payment of rent. The Tenant was late in paying rent every month for a 10-month period from October 2020 to July 21, 2021. The Tenant continued to pay rent late after the application was filed and accumulated rental arrears.
The ruling
The tenancy is terminated effective February 6, 2022. The Tenant must vacate the rental unit by this date and pay $186.00 for the cost of filing the application. If the Tenant does not pay the full amount owing by February 6, 2022, interest will be charged at 2.00% annually from February 7, 2022. The Landlord may file for eviction enforcement starting February 7, 2022, if the unit is not vacated.
