What happened
Landlord applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict Tenant due to failure to pay rent. The Tenant has not paid the total rent the Tenant was required to pay for the period from November 1, 2019 to October 31, 2020. The Landlord served a Notice of Termination effective December 3, 2019.
The ruling
The tenancy is terminated effective October 20, 2020. The Tenant must pay $2,055.77 to the Landlord, which includes rent arrears up to the termination date and the cost of filing the application. The Tenant must also pay $8.84 per day for compensation for use of the unit from October 10, 2020 until the Tenant moves out. If the Tenant does not pay the full amount by October 20, 2020, the Tenant will start owing interest and the Landlord can file the order with the Sheriff to enforce the eviction.
