What happened
Landlord applied to terminate the tenancy and evict the Tenant due to non-payment of rent and persistent late payment of rent. The Landlord also claimed compensation for each day the Tenant remained in the unit after the termination date.
The ruling
The Landlord's applications to terminate the tenancy were dismissed. The Tenant was ordered to pay the Landlord $170.01 in rent arrears and $170.00 for the cost of filing the application. If the Tenant did not pay the full amount by March 21, 2015, they would start owing interest at 3% annually on the outstanding balance.
