What happened
Tenants applied for an order determining that the Landlord failed to meet the Landlord's maintenance obligations under the Residential Tenancies Act, 2006, including issues with heat, oven, leak and mould in the bathroom, missing window screens and locks, fuse constantly blowing, and lack of hot water.
The ruling
The Landlord is ordered to pay the Tenants a rent abatement of $800 and reimburse them $45 for the application filing fee, for a total of $845. If the Landlord does not pay the full amount by July 3, 2016, the Landlord will owe interest at 2% annually on the outstanding balance.
