What happened
Landlord applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict Tenant due to failure to pay rent. The Tenant was properly served with notice of the hearing but did not attend.
The ruling
The tenancy is terminated effective October 31, 2021. The Tenant must pay the Landlord $3,394.16, which includes rent arrears up to October 20, 2021 less the rent deposit, and $49.32 per day for compensation for use of the unit starting October 21, 2021 until the Tenant moves out. The Tenant must also pay the $186.00 application fee. If the Tenant does not pay the full amount by October 31, 2021, the Tenant will owe interest. If the unit is not vacated by October 31, 2021, the Landlord may file the order with the Sheriff for enforcement.
