What happened

Landlord applied for an order requiring Tenants to pay the rent they owed, as well as NSF cheque charges and related administration charges.

The ruling

The tenancy between the Landlord and the Tenants is terminated as of November 30, 2020, the date the Tenants gave vacant possession of the rental unit to the Landlord. The Tenants shall pay to the Landlord $4,001.00, which represents the amount of rent owing ($6,250.00) and compensation up to November 30, 2020, plus the filing fee ($201.00) and the NSF charges ($50.00) less the rent deposit ($2,500.00). If the Tenants do not pay the Landlord the full amount owing on or before April 4, 2021, the Tenants will start to owe interest at 2.00% annually on the balance outstanding.
