What happened

Landlord applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict Tenant due to failure to pay rent and persistent late payment of rent. The Landlord also claimed NSF cheque charges and related administration charges.

The ruling

The Landlord's L1 application was withdrawn as the matter was resolved with the Tenant. For the L2 application, the Tenant's eviction was denied, but the Tenant was ordered to pay the full monthly rent on time for 12 months, starting May 1, 2021. If the Tenant fails to comply, the Landlord may apply for an order terminating the tenancy and evicting the Tenant. The Tenant was also ordered to pay the Landlord $190 for the cost of filing the application.
