What happened

Landlord applied for an order requiring Tenants to pay compensation for damages caused by them or a person they permitted in the residential complex. The Landlord also claimed compensation for each day the Tenants remained in the unit after the termination date.

The ruling

The tenancy between the Landlord and Tenants is terminated, as of April 29, 2021, the date the Tenants abandoned the rental unit. The Tenants shall pay the Landlord $9,900.00 for the unpaid rent of March 2021 and the 2 months (60 days) notice that they failed to provide to the Landlord, $500.00 for the reasonable costs of repairing the damages caused by the Tenants, and $186.00 for the cost of filing the application.
