What happened
Landlord applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict Tenant due to failure to pay rent. Landlord also applied to terminate the tenancy and evict Tenant because Landlord requires possession of the rental unit for the purpose of residential occupation by Landlord's child.
The ruling
The tenancy is terminated effective August 31, 2021. The Tenant must pay the Landlord $10,985.98 in rent arrears and compensation, plus $45.21 per day starting September 1, 2021 until the Tenant vacates the unit. If the Tenant does not pay the full amount by November 1, 2021, the Tenant will owe interest on the outstanding balance. If the unit is not vacated by November 1, 2021, the Landlord may file the order with the Court Enforcement Office for enforcement.
