What happened

Landlords applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict Tenant because the Landlords require possession of the rental unit for the purpose of residential occupation. The Landlords also claimed compensation for each day the Tenant remains in the unit after the termination date.

The ruling

The tenancy is terminated effective October 30, 2020. The Tenant must move out by October 30, 2020 and pay the Landlords $8,614.56 for use of the unit from February 1, 2020 to October 19, 2020. The Tenant will also pay $32.88 per day for use of the unit from October 20, 2020 until the Tenant moves out. If the Tenant does not pay the full amount by October 30, 2020, the Tenant will owe interest at 2% annually on the outstanding balance.
