What happened
Landlords applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict Tenant due to willful damage to the premises, substantial interference with reasonable enjoyment, and serious impairment of safety. The Landlords also sought compensation for damages.
The ruling
The Landlord and Tenant Board ordered the Tenant to pay $10,000 for damages to the rental unit and $186 for the application filing fee. The tenancy had already been terminated by a previous order. If the Tenant does not pay by February 22, 2022, interest will start accruing at 2% annually from February 23, 2022.
