What happened
Landlord applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict Tenants due to undue damage to the rental unit and substantial interference with the Landlord's reasonable enjoyment. The Landlord submitted evidence of damage to the rental unit, including water damage, damage to the bathroom fan, clutter, and damage to doors, ceiling, toilet, and bathtub.
The ruling
The tenancy is terminated effective March 12, 2022. The Tenants must vacate the rental unit by that date. The Tenants are ordered to pay the Landlord $11,034.45 for the reasonable costs of repairing the damage, as well as $201 for the application filing fee. If the Tenants do not pay the full amount by March 12, 2022, they will owe interest starting March 13, 2022.
