What happened
Landlord applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict Tenant due to non-payment of rent. Tenant fell into arrears due to job loss from Covid-19 but is now back at work. Tenant proposed a payment plan, which was accepted by the Board despite Landlord's objections.
The ruling
The Board ordered the Tenant to pay $6,693.47 for rent arrears and costs according to a specified payment schedule from August 15, 2022, to April 15, 2023. The Tenant must also pay new rent on time from August 1, 2022, to April 1, 2023, or until arrears are paid in full. If the Tenant fails to make any payment, the Landlord may apply for termination and eviction within 30 days of the breach.
