What happened
Landlord applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict Tenant due to non-payment of rent. The Tenant failed to pay rent from July 1, 2021 to December 31, 2021. The Landlord served a Notice of Termination effective August 20, 2021. The Tenant did not attend the hearing.
The ruling
The tenancy is terminated effective January 17, 2022, unless the Tenant voids the order by paying $4,215.00 to the Landlord or the Board in trust by that date. The Tenant must pay $3,378.38 in rent arrears and compensation up to January 6, 2022, plus $27.72 per day starting January 7, 2022, and $186.00 for the application filing cost. If the Tenant does not pay or vacate by January 17, 2022, the Landlord may file for eviction enforcement.
