What happened

Landlord applied for an order to require the Tenant to pay the rent that the Tenant owes. The Tenant did not pay the total rent the Tenant was required to pay for the period from October 1, 2020 to December 31, 2020. The Tenant vacated the rental unit on December 24, 2020.

The ruling

The tenancy is terminated as of December 24, 2020, the date the Tenant vacated the rental unit. The Tenant shall pay the Landlord $4,253.12 in rent arrears and $201.00 for the cost of filing the application. If the Tenant does not pay the full amount by November 28, 2021, the Tenant will start to owe interest at 2.00% annually on the outstanding balance.
