What happened

Landlords applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict Tenant due to failure to pay rent. The application was filed after serving a valid Notice of Termination, which the Tenant did not void by paying the arrears. The Tenant vacated the rental unit on June 30, 2020, prior to the hearing date.

The ruling

The Tenant shall pay the Landlords $14,325.00 in rent arrears and $175.00 for the application filing fee, for a total of $14,500.00. If the Tenant does not pay the full amount by September 8, 2020, they will start owing interest at 2.00% annually on the outstanding balance.
