What happened

Landlord applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict the Tenant due to non-payment of rent. The Tenant did not pay the rent owed from August 1, 2020 to April 30, 2021, and the Landlord served a Notice of Termination effective October 10, 2020.

The ruling

The Landlord's application for eviction was denied, but the Tenant was ordered to pay the outstanding rent and costs of $6,936.00. The Tenant was given a payment plan to pay the arrears over 18 months, and was required to continue paying the monthly rent. If the Tenant fails to make the required payments, the Landlord can apply for an order terminating the tenancy and evicting the Tenant.
