What happened

Landlords applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict Tenants due to failure to pay rent. The application was filed after the Tenants failed to pay rent from September 1, 2020 to February 1, 2021. The Tenants had vacated the rental unit on February 1, 2021, prior to the hearing date.

The ruling

The Tenants are ordered to pay the Landlord $5,639.45 in rent arrears and $186 in application fees, less the rent deposit and interest owed on the deposit. If the full amount is not paid by June 8, 2021, the Tenants will owe interest at 2% annually on the outstanding balance.
