What happened

Landlords applied to terminate the tenancy and evict Tenants due to non-payment of rent and because the purchaser requires possession of the rental unit for personal use. The Tenants had vacated the unit prior to the hearing.

The ruling

The tenancy was terminated effective June 1, 2021, the date the Tenants vacated the rental unit. The Tenants are ordered to pay $3,874.91 to the Landlords, which includes rent arrears up to the move-out date and the cost of filing the application, less the rent deposit and interest on the deposit. The L2 application to terminate the tenancy for personal use was dismissed as the Tenants had already vacated.
