What happened

Landlord applied to terminate the tenancy and evict the Tenant in order to do major repairs or renovations to the rental unit, as required by a City Order. The Tenant does not dispute the need for repairs but requests a delayed termination date.

The ruling

The tenancy is terminated effective September 30, 2021 to allow the Landlord to complete the required repairs and renovations. The Tenant must vacate the unit by September 30, 2021. If the unit is not vacated by that date, the Landlord may file the order with the Sheriff to enforce the eviction.
