What happened
Landlord applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict Tenant due to failure to pay rent. The application was filed after serving a valid Notice of Termination effective November 22, 2020, which the Tenant did not void by paying the arrears. The Tenant had not paid the total rent owed from January 1, 2018 to June 30, 2021.
The ruling
The tenancy is terminated effective July 3, 2021. The Tenant must pay the Landlord $17,796.65, plus $20.55 per day starting June 23, 2021 until the Tenant vacates the unit. If the Tenant does not pay the full amount by July 3, 2021, the Tenant will owe interest and the Landlord can file the order for enforcement.
