What happened

Landlord applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict Tenant due to failure to pay rent. The Tenant vacated the rental unit on or before August 14, 2020 as per their agreement facilitated by the Board at the July 31, 2020 hearing.

The ruling

The tenancy was terminated effective August 14, 2020. The Tenant shall pay the Landlord $2,166.39, which represents the amount of rent owing and compensation up to August 14, 2020 plus the application fee, less the abatement and cost of the application the Landlord owes the Tenant. If the Tenant does not pay the full amount by July 11, 2021, the Tenant will start to owe simple interest at 2.00% annually on the balance outstanding.
