What happened
Landlord applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict Tenant due to Tenant's failure to meet a condition specified in a previous mediated settlement. The Tenant failed to pay $1,500 to the Landlord by the agreed upon date.
The ruling
The tenancy is terminated effective August 18, 2020. The Tenant must pay the Landlord $5,575 (less any amount paid after the application was filed) for rent arrears up to February 29, 2020, plus $98.63 per day for compensation for use of the unit starting March 1, 2020 until the Tenant vacates. If the Tenant does not pay the full amount by August 18, 2020, interest will accrue at 2% annually on the outstanding balance. If the unit is not vacated by August 18, 2020, the Landlord may file the order with the Court Enforcement Office for enforcement.
