What happened
Landlord applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict Tenant because the Tenant or another occupant of the rental unit has committed an illegal act or has carried out, or permitted someone to carry out an illegal trade, business or occupation in the rental unit or the residential complex.
The ruling
The Tenant shall not contravene section 12 of the Smoke-Free Ontario Act, 2017 in the residential complex. If the Tenant breaches this order, the Landlord may apply to the Board for an order terminating the tenancy and evicting the Tenant. The Tenant shall pay the Landlord $186.00, being the filing fee for this application, on or before October 31, 2021. If the Tenant does not pay the Landlord in full by October 31, 2021, then, beginning November 1, 2021, simple interest shall accrue on the unpaid balance at the rate of 2% per annum.
