What happened

Landlord applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict Tenant due to non-payment of rent. The Tenant failed to pay rent from February 1, 2021, to January 31, 2022. The Landlord served a Notice of Termination effective October 5, 2021. The Tenant did not attend the hearing.

The ruling

The tenancy is terminated effective February 8, 2022, unless the Tenant voids the order by paying the specified amount. The Tenant must pay $9,235.08 for rent arrears and compensation up to January 28, 2022, plus $55.89 per day starting January 29, 2022, and $186.00 for application filing costs. If the Tenant does not pay or move out by February 8, 2022, the Landlord may file for eviction enforcement.
