What happened
Landlord applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict Tenant due to failure to pay rent. The Tenant disputed the amount of rent owed, claiming he paid first and last month's rent, but the Landlord disputed this. The Tenant also alleged the Landlord stole money from him, but this was not corroborated.
The ruling
The tenancy is terminated effective January 21, 2020. The Tenant must pay the Landlord $4,812.20 (less any payment made after the hearing) plus $16.44 per day starting January 11, 2020. If the Tenant pays $5,175.00 (less any payment made after the hearing) by January 21, 2020, the eviction order will be void and the tenancy will continue.
