Tenants applied for an order determining that Landlords failed to meet their maintenance obligations under the Residential Tenancies Act, 2006 or failed to comply with health, safety, housing or maintenance standards. The ruling

The Landlords were ordered to pay the Tenants a rent abatement of $6,443.88 and $1,500 for the Tenants' time and expenses in addressing maintenance issues, for a total of $7,993.88. The Landlords were required to pay the full amount by May 13, 2023, after which interest would accrue.
