What happened
Landlord applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict Tenant due to failure to pay rent. The application was filed after serving a valid Notice to End Tenancy Early for Non-payment of Rent (N4 Notice), which the tenant did not void by paying the arrears. The landlord also claimed an NSF cheque charge and a related administration charge.
The ruling
The Tenant shall pay to the Landlord $3,249.88, including arrears of rent to April 30, 2020 ($3,049.88), NSF-related fees ($25.00) and the application filing fee ($175.00). If the Tenant does not pay the Landlord the full amount owing on or before December 15, 2020, the Tenant will start to owe interest at 2.00% annually on the balance outstanding.
