What happened

The ruling
The tenancy is terminated effective August 1, 2021. The Tenants are ordered to pay the Landlord $35,000, which represents the rent owing to July 21, 2021 and the Landlord's filing fee, less the amount extinguished pursuant to subsection 207(3) of the RTA. If the Tenants do not pay the full amount owing by August 1, 2021, they will owe simple interest calculated from August 2, 2021 at 2.00% annually on the balance outstanding.
