What happened

Landlord applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict Tenant due to non-payment of rent. The Tenant had already vacated the rental unit on February 28, 2022, prior to the hearing date. The Landlord also claimed charges related to NSF cheques, which were not allowed.

The ruling

The tenancy was terminated effective February 28, 2022, the date the Tenant vacated the rental unit. The Tenant is ordered to pay $2,872.42 to the Landlord, which includes rent arrears up to the move-out date and the cost of filing the application, minus the rent deposit and interest on the deposit.
