What happened

Landlord applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict Tenants due to substantial interference with the reasonable enjoyment or lawful right, privilege or interest of the Landlord or another tenant. The Landlord also applied for an order requiring the Tenants to pay the Landlord's reasonable out-of-pocket expenses that are the result of the Tenants' failure to pay utility costs they were required to pay under the terms of the tenancy agreement.

The ruling

The tenancy between the Landlord and the Tenants was terminated as of September 20, 2022. The Tenants are ordered to pay the Landlord $3,763.60 for the unpaid utility bills and $186.00 for the cost of filing the application, for a total of $3,949.60. If the Tenants do not pay the full amount by December 3, 2022, they will start to owe interest at 4.00% annually on the outstanding balance.
