What happened

Landlord applied for an order requiring the Tenant to pay the rent that the Tenant owes. The application was resolved by order SOL-16375-20 issued on June 08, 2021. The Landlord requested a review of the order, alleging she did not receive the Notice of Hearing sent to her by the Board and was not reasonably able to participate in the hearing held on March 02, 2021.

The ruling

The request to review order SOL-16375-20 issued on June 08, 2021 is granted and the order is cancelled. The tenancy is terminated as of July 3, 2021, the date the Tenant gave vacant possession of the rental unit to the Landlord. The Tenant shall pay the Landlord $4,388.77, which represents the amount of rent owing and compensation up to July 3, 2021, and $201.00 for the cost of filing the application. If the Tenant does not pay the full amount owing on or before October 9, 2021, the Tenant will start to owe interest at 2.00% annually on the balance outstanding.
