What happened

Landlord applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict Tenants due to failure to pay rent as per the prior consent order. The Tenants failed to pay rent arrears of $2,100 and $258.18 by the deadline in the consent order.

The ruling

The tenancy is terminated effective November 12, 2021. The Tenants must pay the Landlord $1,687.62, which includes rent arrears up to September 30, 2021 and costs from the previous application, less the rent deposit and interest owed on the deposit. The Tenants must also pay $69.04 per day in compensation for use of the unit from October 1, 2021 until they vacate.
