What happened
Landlord applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict Tenant due to failure to pay rent. The application was filed after a mediated settlement was reached in a previous application, which required the Tenant to pay rent by a certain date, which the Tenant failed to do.
The ruling
The tenancy is terminated effective February 7, 2020. The Tenant must pay the Landlord $6,572.47 in rent arrears, plus $44.38 per day in compensation for use of the unit starting January 28, 2020 until the Tenant moves out. If the Tenant does not pay the full amount by February 7, 2020, the Tenant will owe interest at 3% annually on the outstanding balance. If the unit is not vacated by February 7, 2020, the Landlord may file the order with the Court Enforcement Office for enforcement.
