What happened
Landlords applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict Tenant due to failure to pay rent. The Landlords served a Notice of Termination effective October 12, 2021, due to rent arrears. The Tenant did not attend the hearing.
The ruling
The tenancy is terminated effective March 1, 2022, unless the Tenant voids the order by paying the specified amounts. The Tenant must pay $6,210.54 for rent arrears and compensation up to February 22, 2022, plus $29.59 per day thereafter until move-out. The Tenant must also pay $186.00 for the application filing cost. If full payment is not made by March 5, 2022, interest will start accruing. The Tenant has the option to void the order and continue the tenancy by paying specified amounts by certain deadlines.
