What happened

Landlord applied for an order requiring Tenants to pay the rent they owed. The Tenants had vacated the rental unit on February 28, 2022, prior to the hearing date.

The ruling

The Tenant is ordered to pay the Landlord $1,019.03, which includes rent arrears up to March 14, 2022 and the cost of the application, minus the rent deposit and interest on the deposit. If the Tenant does not pay the full amount by September 18, 2022, they will start owing interest at 3% annually on the outstanding balance.
