What happened
Landlord applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict Tenant due to failure to pay rent. The Tenant was in possession of the rental unit on the date the application was filed, but had paid $4,650 after the application was filed. The lawful monthly rent was $1,550.
The ruling
The tenancy is terminated effective November 27, 2021. The Tenant must pay the Landlord $6,648.78, which includes rent arrears and compensation up to November 2, 2021, plus $50.96 per day for compensation for use of the unit starting November 3, 2021 until the Tenant moves out. The Tenant must also pay the $186 application fee. If the Tenant does not pay the full amount by November 27, 2021, the Tenant will owe interest and the Landlord can file the order with the Sheriff to enforce the eviction.
