What happened
Landlord applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict Tenant due to the Tenant committing an illegal act and seriously impairing the safety of other persons in the residential complex. The Landlord discovered firearms and ammunition that were not securely stored in the Tenant's unit, which posed a serious safety risk to other residents.
The ruling
The tenancy is terminated effective February 18, 2023. The Tenant must move out by this date. If the unit is not vacated by February 18, 2023, the Landlord may file the order with the Court Enforcement Office (Sheriff) for enforcement. The Tenant must pay the Landlord $4,598, which includes compensation for use and occupation of the unit, the application filing fee, and the rent deposit less interest owed.
