What happened

Landlord applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict Tenant due to non-payment of rent. The Landlord served a Notice of Termination effective October 18, 2021. The Tenant did not attend the hearing.

The ruling

The tenancy is terminated effective February 18, 2022, unless the Tenant voids the order by paying $7,813.75 by that date. The Tenant is ordered to pay $5,024.48 for rent arrears and compensation, plus $50.16 per day from February 8, 2022, until move-out, and $186.00 for application costs. If not paid, the Landlord may file for eviction enforcement starting February 19, 2022.
