What happened
Landlord applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict Tenant due to the Tenant, another occupant, or a person the Tenant permitted in the residential complex seriously impairing the safety of any person. The Landlord also applied for an order determining that the Tenant, another occupant, or someone the Tenant permitted in the residential complex has wilfully or negligently caused undue damage to the premises and requiring the Tenant to compensate the Landlord for the damage. The Landlord also claimed compensation for each day the Tenant remained in the unit after the termination date.
The ruling
The Tenant shall pay the Landlord $200.00 for the reasonable costs of repairing the damage to the windows, and $175.00 for the cost of filing the application. If the Tenant does not pay the full amount owing by May 3, 2021, the Tenant will start to owe simple interest at 2.00% annually on the outstanding balance.
