What happened

Landlord applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict Tenant due to failure to pay rent. The Tenant was in possession of the rental unit and had not paid the full rent from May 1, 2019 to October 31, 2020. The Landlord served a Notice of Termination due to the rent arrears.

The ruling

The tenancy is terminated effective November 16, 2020. The Tenant must pay the Landlord $9,129.74 in rent arrears and application costs, plus $25.35 per day in compensation starting November 6, 2020 until the Tenant vacates the unit. If the Tenant pays $9,949.00 on or before November 16, 2020, the eviction order will be void and the tenancy will continue.
