What happened
Landlord applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict Tenant due to failure to pay rent. The Tenant paid $2,600 after the application was filed, but still owed rent arrears. The Tenant withheld rent due to vandalism to her car in the parking lot, but the Landlord was not responsible for the damage.
The ruling
The tenancy is terminated effective July 16, 2021. The Tenant must pay the Landlord $1,615.77 in rent arrears and compensation, plus $17.10 per day starting July 6, 2021 until the Tenant vacates. If the Tenant pays $1,215 by July 16, 2021, the eviction order will be void and the tenancy can continue.
