What happened
Landlords applied to terminate the tenancy and evict the Occupant and Tenant for transferring the occupancy to a person other than by an assignment or sublet in accordance with the Residential Tenancies Act, 2006.
The ruling
The tenancy is terminated, and the Unauthorized Occupant must vacate the rental unit by June 30, 2021. The Unauthorized Occupant must pay the Landlords $5,600 in rent arrears, $82.19 per day in compensation for use of the unit from April 1, 2021 until the date of move-out, and $190 for the cost of filing the application. If the full amount is not paid by July 11, 2021, the Unauthorized Occupant will owe interest at 2% on the outstanding balance.
