What happened

Landlords applied for an order for Tenants to pay rent owed. The application was amended to an L9 application solely for arrears of rent and filing fee. Tenants vacated the rental unit on May 15, 2022, owing rent from February 1, 2022 to May 15, 2022.

The ruling

The Tenants are ordered to pay the Landlords $16,967.42, which includes rent arrears up to the move-out date, filing fee, and NSF fees, minus the rent deposit and interest on the deposit. If not paid by December 10, 2022, interest will accrue at 4.00% annually on the outstanding balance.
