What happened

Landlord applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict Tenant due to failure to pay rent and meet conditions specified in a previous LTB order. The Tenant failed to pay the lawful rent of $2,454.10 on or before January 1, 2023, as required by the previous order.

The ruling

The tenancy is terminated effective April 7, 2023. The Tenant must pay $15,622.04 to the Landlord, representing rent arrears up to March 27, 2023, less the rent deposit and interest. Additionally, the Tenant must pay $80.68 per day from March 28, 2023, until vacating the unit. If the Tenant does not vacate by April 7, 2023, the Landlord may file for eviction enforcement starting April 8, 2023.
