What happened
Landlord applied for an order requiring Tenants to pay the rent they owed. The Tenants were in possession of the rental unit on the date the application was filed and did not pay the total rent they were required to pay for October 2020. The Tenants vacated the rental unit on November 2, 2020.
The ruling
The tenancy is terminated as of November 2, 2020, the date the Tenants vacated the rental unit. The Tenants shall pay the Landlord $18.52, which represents the amount of rent owing up to November 2, 2020, less the rent deposit the Landlord owes to the Tenants. The Tenants shall also pay the Landlord $201.00 for the cost of filing the application. If the Tenants do not pay the full amount owing by November 15, 2021, they will start to owe interest at 2.00% annually on the outstanding balance.
